Cisco offers a variety of network certification options through its own academy, as well as through a series of Partners and professional technical training organizations. Curriculum at the undergraduate level in Computer Science is often geared toward students wishing to complete Cisco certifications upon graduation. Cisco certified network certification helps to differentiate IT professionals in the workplace. Just as a BS or MS degree serves to judge one's capabilities at the baseline level, certification on Cisco serves to expand upon the fundamentals in traditional University programs and thoroughly covers the Cisco product line, as well as the network applications that they will be used in.
